Have you ever felt like a monster? That's how Juliette feels every day of her life. She has a power that makes her touch lethal, and she has been locked up in an asylum for 264 days, isolated and tortured by the Reestablishment, a cruel regime that has taken over the world and destroyed everything. But one day, she is given a choice: to become a weapon for the Reestablishment, or to join a rebel group that wants to overthrow them. Along the way, she meets Adam, a soldier who has a mysterious connection to her, and Warner, the leader of the Reestablishment who is obsessed with her power. I rated this book 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars because it was a captivating and emotional read that kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing style was beautiful and poetic, the characters were complex and relatable, and the plot was thrilling and unpredictable. I loved how the book explored themes of identity, power, love, and freedom, and how it made me feel a range of emotions, from sadness to joy, from anger to sympathy, from fear to hope. This book was a masterpiece, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

💗Characters💗

One of the strongest aspects of this book was the characters. They were all well-developed, realistic, and interesting. I especially loved Juliette, the protagonist, who was one of the most complex and relatable characters I've ever read. She was strong, brave, vulnerable, and compassionate. She went through a lot of character development throughout the book, as she learned to accept herself and her power, and to fight for what she believed in. I also loved the romance, which was intense, passionate, and swoon-worthy. I was torn between Adam and Warner, who were both intriguing and attractive in their own ways. Adam was kind, loyal, and protective, while Warner was ruthless, ambitious, and obsessive. They both had secrets and layers that made them more than what they seemed. I can't wait to see how their relationships with Juliette will evolve in the next books.

💗Plot💗

The plot of this book was fast-paced, action-packed, and unpredictable. It kept me hooked from the first page to the last, and I never knew what was going to happen next. There were twists and turns that surprised me, and scenes that made me gasp, cry, or cheer. The book was set in a dystopian world where the Reestablishment, a cruel regime, had taken over and destroyed everything. The environment was ruined, the people were starving, and the freedom was gone. The book explored the consequences of this world, and the challenges and choices that the characters faced. It also introduced a rebel group that wanted to overthrow the Reestablishment, and a conflict that was brewing between them. The book ended with a cliffhanger that left me wanting more, and I'm eager to find out what will happen next.

💗Pace💗

The pace of this book was perfect for me. It was not too slow or too fast, but just right. It balanced the action and the romance, the tension and the humor, the drama and the emotion. It gave enough time for the characters and the world to be developed, but also enough excitement and suspense to keep me engaged. It never dragged or bored me, but always kept me interested and invested.

💗World Building💗

The world building of this book was impressive and immersive. The author created a dystopian world that was bleak, harsh, and terrifying, but also fascinating and original. She used vivid descriptions, metaphors, and imagery to convey the atmosphere and the mood of the world, and to make me feel like I was there. She also introduced some elements of fantasy and sci-fi, such as the powers that some characters had, and the technology that the Reestablishment used. She explained the history and the rules of the world, and how it affected the characters and the plot. She also left some mysteries and questions that made me curious and intrigued. I loved how the world building was integrated into the story, and how it added depth and complexity to the book.
