I rated it 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars. I loved this book so much! It was intense, emotional, and scorching hot. Rina Kent knows how to write dark romance that keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you feel all kinds of things. The characters were complex, flawed, and captivating. Annika was such a lovable heroine, who had a lot of strength and courage despite her innocence and vulnerability. She was loyal, kind, and brave. She challenged Creighton and made him feel things he never felt before. Creighton was a fascinating hero, who had a lot of layers and secrets. He was cold, ruthless, and dangerous. He had a sadistic and masochistic streak that he unleashed on Annika, but he also had a soft and protective side that he showed only to her. He was obsessed with her, and he would do anything to keep her.

💗Characters💗

The characters in this book were complex, flawed, and captivating. They had depth, personality, and growth. The main characters, Annika and Creighton, were perfect for each other, because they understood each other’s darkness and light. They had a love-hate relationship that was full of tension, passion, and pain. They pushed each other’s buttons and boundaries, and they brought out the best and the worst in each other. They made me swoon, cry, and scream. The secondary characters were also awesome, and I loved seeing the characters from the previous books. They added humor, friendship, and family to the story.

Annika Volkov

Annika Volkov is the heroine of the story. She is the daughter of a powerful Russian mafia boss and the sister of Eli Volkov. She is a bubbly, sweet, and innocent girl who loves her family and wants to have some freedom and fun in her life. She is attracted to Creighton King, a quiet, mysterious, and handsome boy who attends the same school as her. But Creighton is not interested in her, or so she thinks.

Annika’s character development is remarkable. She starts off as a naive and sheltered girl who doesn’t know much about the dark and dangerous world of the mafia. She is curious and adventurous, but also reckless and impulsive. She makes a terrible mistake that puts her in Creighton’s crosshairs, and she has to face the consequences of her actions. She learns the hard way that Creighton is not a normal boy, but a sadistic and masochistic one who wants to hurt her and make her beg for more. She is terrified and confused by his behavior, but she also feels a strange attraction and connection to him. She discovers a part of herself that she never knew existed, a part that craves pain and pleasure. She also realizes that Creighton has a soft and protective side that he shows only to her. She challenges him and makes him feel things he never felt before. She falls in love with him, but she also fears him. She has to decide whether to trust him or not, and whether to stay with him or not.

Annika grows a lot throughout the story. She becomes more mature, strong, and courageous. She faces her fears and doubts, and she stands up for herself and her loved ones. She also learns to accept and embrace her dark and light sides, and to balance them. She finds her voice and her place in the world. She becomes a worthy partner for Creighton, and a loyal friend and sister to others.

Creighton King

Creighton King is the hero of the story. He is a quiet, mysterious, and handsome boy who attends the same school as Annika. He has a dark and twisted side that he hides from everyone, and he has a secret agenda that involves Annika. He wants to make her his, but not in a conventional way. He wants to dominate her, hurt her, and make her beg for more. He wants to break her, but he might end up breaking himself instead.

Creighton’s character development is also impressive. He starts off as a cold, ruthless, and dangerous boy who doesn’t care about anyone or anything. He has a sadistic and masochistic streak that he unleashes on Annika, but he also has a soft and protective side that he shows only to her. He is obsessed with her, and he would do anything to keep her. He has a lot of layers and secrets that he reveals gradually. He has a tragic and traumatic past that explains his behavior and motives. He has a lot of pain and anger that he tries to cope with. He has a lot of guilt and remorse that he tries to atone for. He has a lot of love and loyalty that he tries to express.

Creighton changes a lot throughout the story. He becomes more human, emotional, and vulnerable. He opens up to Annika and lets her in his heart. He trusts her and respects her. He loves her and protects her. He also learns to forgive himself and others, and to move on from his past. He finds his peace and his purpose in the world. He becomes a better person for Annika, and a stronger leader for his people.

💗World Building💗

The world building in this book was amazing, and I loved being back in the Mafia World. The author did a great job of creating a realistic and immersive setting that was full of danger, intrigue, and power. The world of this book was dark, twisted, and addictive, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
Some of the details that I liked about the world building were:
The different mafia families and their histories, alliances, and rivalries. The author showed how the mafia world was complex, ruthless, and violent, but also had its own rules, codes, and traditions. The author also explored the conflicts and challenges that the mafia heirs faced, such as loyalty, duty, and identity.
The social dynamics and hierarchies among the characters, and how they influenced their relationships and choices. The author showed how the characters had different roles, statuses, and personalities, and how they interacted with each other. The author also
showed how the characters had to deal with their enemies, allies, and rivals, and how they had to navigate the dangers and opportunities in their world.

💗Plot💗

The plot was fast-paced, engaging, and unpredictable. There were twists and turns that kept me guessing and hooked. There was drama, suspense, action, and romance. The author also balanced the dark and light moments, and the steamy and sweet scenes. The plot was well-written, well-executed, and well-resolved. The plot was also consistent with the previous books, and it set up the stage for the next book.

💗Tone💗

The tone of this book was dark, intense, and emotional. The author did a great job of conveying the feelings and thoughts of the characters, and making me feel them too. The tone matched the genre and the theme of the book, and it created a powerful and captivating atmosphere. The tone also varied depending on the scene and the mood, and it enhanced the impact of the story.

💗Enjoyment💗

I enjoyed this book immensely, and I couldn’t put it down. It was one of the best books I’ve read this year, and it exceeded my expectations. It was a roller coaster of emotions, and it made me laugh, cry, gasp, and swoon. It was a satisfying and rewarding read, and it left me wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, God of Wrath, which is about Jeremy and Cecily.

Some of the things that I enjoyed the most about this book were:

The romance between Annika and Creighton, which was hot, intense, and emotional. They had some of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read, and they also had some of the sweetest moments. They made me feel their love, pain, and passion, and they made me root for their happy ending.

The suspense and mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. There were so many secrets, twists, and surprises that I didn’t see coming, and they made me curious and shocked. There were also some dangers and threats that made me nervous and scared for the characters.

The humor and banter that made me laugh and smile. There were some funny and witty dialogues and interactions between the characters, especially the secondary ones. They added some lightness and fun to the story, and they made me love the characters more.
The writing style and the storytelling that were flawless, captivating, and addictive. The author had a way with words that made me feel everything and immerse myself in the story. The author also had a great skill of creating a balance between the dark and the light, the steamy and the sweet, and the drama and the humor. The author also had a great talent of building up the anticipation and the tension, and delivering a satisfying and explosive climax and resolution.
